Recipe Note
🔥 Baking Temperature & Time
Oven Temperature: 375°F (190°C)
Bake Time: 14–17 minutes, or until tops are golden brown and buns sound slightly hollow when tapped
🍳 Tips for Best Results:
Egg wash: Before baking, brush the buns with a beaten egg mixed with a splash of water or milk to get that shiny, rich golden top (perfect for sesame seed adhesion).
Internal temp check (optional): If you want to be precise, finished buns should reach an internal temperature of around 190–200°F (88–93°C).
🍽️ Serving Suggestions
Cool before slicing: Let buns cool for at least 20–30 minutes on a wire rack to set the crumb and make slicing easier.
Best for: Burgers, breakfast sandwiches, pulled pork, chicken salad, or even as a soft roll with butter.
Toasting tip: Slice and lightly toast with butter for added flavor and structure.
🧊 Storage Guidelines
Room Temp:
Store in an airtight container or zip-top bag for up to 3 days.
Keep away from direct sunlight or heat to prevent sweating and mold.
Freezing:
Freeze buns (fully cooled) in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months.
For best results, wrap individually in plastic wrap first to avoid freezer burn.
To thaw: Leave at room temp for 1–2 hours or microwave for 20–30 seconds.
Reheating:
Warm in a 325°F (160°C) oven for 5–7 minutes, or slice and toast as needed.
