Coffee and Cocoa Steak Rub
This coffee and cocoa rub is built to create a deep, aggressive crust on steak. The combination of espresso, cocoa, and spice enhances the natural flavor of the meat while delivering a steakhouse-quality bark under high heat.

1 tbsp finely ground espresso
1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine espresso, cocoa powder, brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Lightly coat the steak with olive oil.
- Press the rub evenly onto all sides of the steak.
- Let the steak rest at room temperature for 30 to 45 minutes before cooking.
